Caffeine Energy Without The Chaos

Matcha is a delicious antioxidant-rich tea from Japan that provides a caffeine boost without the anxious feeling or crash

If you're looking for a coffee alternative for daily energy, you should try Ceremonial Grade Matcha.

It’s a finely ground powder made from specifically grown green tea leaves, which are rich in antioxidants and amino acids. Unlike regular green tea, which is brewed and the leaves discarded, you consume the whole leaf, and get 100% of its beneficial ingredients.

Matcha delivers a jitter-free, crash-free energy boost by combining the stimulating effects of caffeine with the calming effects of the amino acid L-theanine.

Why is Energy from Matcha Better?

Unlike coffee and energy drinks, which cause a sharp spike in energy followed by jitters and a significant crash, matcha provides a smoother, more sustained energy boost.

Matcha contains the amino acid L-theanine, which has a calming effect that softens caffeine’s stimulation. This unique combination results in steady energy and mental focus.

Make The Perfect Matcha Latte

Mix 1.5g (1/2 tsp) of matcha powder with 30ml of hot water (80°C is ideal) and whisk until smooth and frothy. Top up with 200ml of warm milk of your choice and sweeten if desired. For an authentic latte experience, froth your milk first.

Pro Tip: Matcha powder won’t fully dissolve, so sieve first for an extra smooth drink.

This matcha powder had a lovely vibrant green colour and a grassy smell. I used it to make matcha lattes using coconut milk and they were really delicious. This now replaces my morning coffee and it definitely helps me to feel energised.

I am a long term caffeine addict and have never found a satisfactory alternative. I hate the taste of most green and white teas and they just don't cut it in terms of energy boosting. This matcha is a revelation - it makes me feel fantastic; alert and energetic but not jittery.

I have found that mixing it in with yogurt is fantastic, i personally like it in strawberry, it mixes so well just dump the powder in and stir for a few seconds, once you get over the fact that your strawberry yogurt is bright green, it really is fab. i love that i'm getting the goodness of matcha tea, and enjoying it at the same time will definitely be buying again

Got Questions?

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions below.
  • We’re honest about serving sizes. We recommend 1.5g per serving for the best flavour and benefits, unlike many brands that list 1g servings to make their price seem lower.

In a café, you’d never get just 1g of matcha: it’s simply too weak.

  • Ceremonial-grade matcha is made from the highest quality shade-grown leaves, known for their superior nutrients and flavour.

The shade-growing process boosts chlorophyll and L-theanine, giving it a vibrant green colour, smooth umami taste, and naturally calming effects.

It’s the only matcha grade smooth enough to drink straight with water, without needing milk or sweeteners to balance bitterness.

  • Boiling water scorches the matcha, making it bitter and causing delicate nutrients like L-theanine and antioxidants to denature. To preserve its smooth taste and full benefits, we recommend using 80°C water instead.

  • Use 1–2 grams of matcha powder per cup. 1g gives a milder flavour and caffeine content, while 2g provides a stronger taste and energy boost.

  • You may have heard that matcha contains a 'different kind' of caffeine, but that's a misconception—caffeine is caffeine; it's the presence of L-Theanine that makes the difference.

  • High-quality matcha is labour-intensive to produce: grown in shade, hand-picked, stone-ground, and made from only the top tea leaves.
